Lucia Udvardyová is a music journalist and organiser.
In 2010, together with Peter Gonda, she co-founded Easterndaze, a project that aims to document and interconnect the emerging underground scenes in Central and Eastern Europe. Together Udvardyová and Gonda run a music label called Baba Vanga. In 2015, she curated an exhibition series of events presenting the visual aesthetics of underground labels from Central and Eastern Europe at the OFF Biennale in Budapest.
Since 2016, she’s been curating the Easterndaze x Berlin event that aims to bring together collectives from Berlin and the CEE region.
She currently works for SHAPE platform (Sound, Heterogeneous Art and Performance in Europe), a pan-European festival initiative that promotes innovative music and audiovisual art. She is also a research associate at Unearthing the Music, a historical project that aims to explore the legacy of experimental and underground music in Central and Eastern Europe as well as Portugal and Spain, and she is one of the coordinators of the sound art programme at the Budapest Art Residency. She occasionally plays and performs music.
